What I collect when you enquire or book, why, and who helps me look after it.
Who's responsible
Jordan Dewsnip, tattoo artist at BlackStar Tattoo, Farnworth, Bolton. Questions about your details: reply to any email from me, or message me on Instagram (@jordandewsnip).
What I collect and why
- Your name, email and (if you give it) phone number, to reply to you and arrange your booking.
- Your date of birth, because it's illegal to tattoo anyone under 18 in the UK.
- Your idea, placement, size, reference images and the dates you'd like, to quote and plan your tattoo.
- Booking and payment records (dates, amounts, how you paid), to manage your booking and keep proper accounts.
I use these because you've asked me to quote for and carry out a tattoo, and to meet legal obligations such as the age rule and keeping accounts.
Messages
I email you about your enquiry and booking: replies, your date offer, confirmation, reminders and aftercare. If you give your mobile number, these may also come on WhatsApp once that's set up. I only send news or offers if you've ticked the box asking for them, and you can change your mind at any time.
Who helps me look after it
- Render hosts this website (servers in Frankfurt, Germany).
- Neon stores the booking database (Frankfurt, Germany).
- Cloudflare stores reference images privately and runs the domain.
- Resend sends emails (Ireland).
- Stripe takes card payments. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach this site.
They only use your details to provide their service to me. Your details are never sold.
How long I keep it
Only as long as I need it for your enquiry and any booking, and for as long as the law requires for business and tax records.
Your rights
You can ask to see the details I hold about you, to correct them, or to have them deleted where I don't need to keep them. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
